IAMB Conference a huge success

Conference well attended

The Gala ball. Over 170 attended

The IAMB Conference held recently in the Ritz Carlton Powerscourt was a huge success with everyone attending saying how informative and interesting the whole weekend was.

At the Conference on Saturday morning the FCBA president Mr Sean Stafford received the chains of office from the outgoing President Mr Niall Irwin.

Niall Irwin told the gathering that he thoroughly enjoyed his term of office and wished Sean every success in his term as President.

Sean Stafford mentioned during his speech, that one of his aims was to bring the different associations of the trade in Ireland, to work closer together, and for greater unity among the trade as a whole.

We had several speakers at the conference on the morning. First up was Andy Pollard from AB Mauri.

Andy spoke of the integration on Cereform into the AB Mauri group, and explained the challenges and benefits of same.

Next up was Rachael Drury from Elsair who spoke on the topic "Turning bakery waste into Bio-Fuel".

This was most interesting although the company are not quite ready to receive the bakery waste just yet, they are sowing seeds and preparing the ground for this unique venture.

Lastly from the Scottish association of Bakers was Alan Clarke. Alan gave us a unique view into their association, and gave a very passionate speech on how they integrated their associations into one voice for the trade in Scotland.

All of these presentations plus photographs and more details from the weekend to follow.Speeches from conference to follow also.
